{"id":62,"date":"2014-03-19T02:30:49","date_gmt":"2014-03-19T02:30:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ocfveneta.wpengine.com\/?page_id=62"},"modified":"2024-03-28T13:25:32","modified_gmt":"2024-03-28T20:25:32","slug":"about-ocf","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.oregoncountryfair.org\/about-ocf\/","title":{"rendered":"About OCF"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Mission<\/h3>\n<p>The Oregon Country Fair creates events and experiences that nourish the spirit, explore living artfully and authentically on earth, and transform culture in magical, joyous and healthy ways.<\/p>\n<h3>Signature Event and Setting<\/h3>\n<p>The Oregon Country Fair (OCF) hosts an annual three-day festival offering the finest in entertainment, hand-made crafts, delectable food and information sharing, with annual attendance of approximately 45,000. We are in a wooded setting located in Veneta, Oregon, about 15 miles west of Eugene, with our own water and communication systems, security team, recycling service and much more. We enjoy a mutually cooperative relationship with our neighbors in the Veneta community.<\/p>\n<h3>Organizational Structure<\/h3>\n<p>We are an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, charitable, educational, and philanthropic organization with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregoncountryfair.org\/staff\/\">handful of year-round employees<\/a> and a family of thousands of volunteers, artisans, and entertainers. We have a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregoncountryfair.org\/board-and-officers\/\">12 member Board of Directors<\/a>, and own the land, close to 500 acres, on which the Fair is held.<\/p>\n<p>We are organized around over 65 volunteer work crews that provide services ranging from building booths to taking tickets to publishing a monthly newsletter.<\/p>\n<h3>History<\/h3>\n<p>Started in 1969 as a benefit for an alternative school, the OCF has a rich and varied history of alternative arts and performance promotion, educational opportunities, land stewardship and philanthropy.<\/p>\n<h3>The Land<\/h3>\n<p>Although the Fair is held only three days of the year, we have a long-standing commitment to the land on which our event is held.
