Because of the Covid pandemic and two years of no event, we had to put our Giving Fund on hiatus. But this year we are happy to announce our Giving Fund will be making donations again. We are proud\u00a0 to say that the Fair has donated over $1.5 million back into the larger community in the last 50 years.<\/p><p>The Fair has long held a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status reflecting and mandating our non-profit purpose: reinforcing the Fair&#8217;s vision for the world and educating the larger community about that vision. It helps the Fair extend its sense of community and create harmonious relationships with its neighbors and beyond. Philanthropy provides the means to develop programs beyond the Fair event that are consistent with the organization&#8217;s non-profit purposes and deeply held values.<\/p><p>We have updated our process for Board giving. The majority of the funding will be distributed annually with an application due in September for awards in October. Twenty percent will be available for emergent needs throughout the year. We will consider larger grants than we did previously and sponsorships. See below if emailing is not possible.<\/p><p><strong>This year we will fund projects and organizational operating expenses in the field of social inequity\/ social justice<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Your application must include the following and be no longer than three pages in 12 point font similar to Times New Roman (excluding additional supporting documents):<\/p><ul><li>Name of the organization, mailing address, phone number and email<\/li><li>A clearly identified contact person with name, mailing address, phone number, and email.<\/li><li>Brief descriptions of your organization, e.g. its purpose, number of people served. (150 words or less)<\/li><li>Brief description of the reason for your request for the grant. Include the project or organizational results and how your project\/organization mission reflects the OCF Board Giving criteria. Be sure to include how many people will benefit from your project or organization. (300 words or less)<\/li><li>Project budget, including other sources of funding. Please let us know how your project will proceed if you do not receive full funding.<\/li><li>Total budget of your organization. Generally, OCF Board Giving is most impactful for organizations with a total budget of around $500,000 but we will consider larger non-profits if the impact of our grant makes a significant difference.<\/li><li>Attach a copy of your IRS letter of determination.<\/li><li>Additional supporting materials may be attached.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Proposals must be received no later than September 1st at 5pm each year.
