We are a small family farm in Southern Oregon specializing in apiculture – beekeeping and the growing society of folks who care about them. We keep about 600 colonies in beehives that we make ourselves using sustainably sourced cedar and redwood. I practice acupressure and Tui-Na massage therapy at the fair. Note my services are helpful for some urgent care cases, and I would be happy to volunteer for that in the first aid areas of the fair.

Bemis Beard Oils are inspired by place. I steam distill essential oils from hand-gathered wild plants, which I combine with plant-based carrier oils and other sustainably-sourced essential oils. Each blend is carefully researched to heal flaky skin, soften whiskers, and provide a soothing fragrance.

I offer six varieties of beard oils in 1/2 oz and 1 oz dropper bottles. Also available are sample packs containing three 1/2 oz. bottles of your chosen varieties.

Available beard oil varieties include:
1) Aurora Beardealis – the essence of the Great North: white, black, Sitka spruce, pine, and rose hip seed oil;
2) Oregon Forest – a State of Beard: Douglas fir, Sitka spruce, Western red-cedar, Ponderosa pine, and juniper berry;

Healing Hands Salve

To make my salves, I slowly cook large amounts of fresh herbs in 100% olive oil for a super-saturated healing solution which is strained and mixed with local beeswax. I use recycled glass containers when possible, plus new glass and plastic containers from a local business.

At a Breitenbush Herbal Conference in 1983, I learned the basics of salve making from Herbalist Cascade Anderson-Geller. Soon I created my own blends using plants I could grow or sustainably wildcraft in the southern Willamette Valley. These humble plants help bodies heal in amazing ways. I began selling my salve at OCF in 1985, and it has developed a devoted following. I make every batch by hand with love and healing thoughts.
